They might have thought he grabbed one of their guns or had a concealed weapon. Simple thing is to stop putting yourself in harmsway by being a drunk and a criminal. This is not racism it is simply the presenting of a darwin award. This was completely justified. The Taters Over Haters Shirt man would have been entirely unharmed had he just compiled, even if he had resisted without stealing a taser and firing it on the police he'd have been fine. He made extremely bad choices and it got him killed the officers were not wrong. He was running away with a non-lethal weapon.
Resisting arrest gets you months in Georgia. It's not a
capital offense. He was killed for resisting arrest. They kept testing him
hoping he'd mess up. But he passed. At that point, they could've given him a
warning and driven him to his sister's house. No harm, no foul.
